Even though I wasn't born with a very good maths head, I know that 1+1=6 sounds crazy, but sometimes numbers do somersaults.
Since I'm good at explaining, I'll explain to you why 1+1=6 and finally, a new product called Dreaming of Veevi .
It was early 2019 when I was hospitalized due to a high-risk pregnancy. I was expecting our twin girls, as was coincidentally my hospital bed neighbor Kata. We were united by worry and sadness about the future when there was not much hope for a happy ending. Twin parents have an amazing ability to cheer each other on, and at this moment I really needed that.
I don't remember exactly how many days we lay in adjacent beds (maybe two), but I remember that we talked a lot, including about our lives outside that hospital room, which took our minds off the situation a bit.
Life in the hospital was very unpredictable and suddenly Kata was taken to the operating room, her twin daughters were due in the very early weeks. For understandable reasons, the contact between us remained minimal as she had so many other things to think about while I was in bed waiting for my own impending birth.
Time passed and I got to hold my own daughters in my arms. We both got a happy ending! We texted each other, but I never would have imagined that our paths would cross again when the dust settled.
"Then someday when my sewing business is bigger and I'm rich, can I buy a logo design from you?"
Our first project together was when Kata volunteered to make a dress as a Christmas gift for my friend's sick little princess. In return, I offered her a pair of twin birth posters I had designed. This is where we also discovered each other's professional expertise.
Kata wrote to me saying "Someday when my sewing business is bigger and I'm rich, can I buy your logo design?" Well, of course, we didn't have to wait until then and we made a deal! I made Kata a Veevi logo and Kata promised to make clothes for my children.
I'm not a fan of patterns... or actually I just didn't think that a seamstress sews from patterns and I started bombarding Kata with pictures and ideas. I've never had a very good relationship with a sewing machine, even though I have one (although it lacks a pedal, or whatever that foot part is). Still, I've always dreamed that I could sew and design clothes. Well, all the same, now I had "my" seamstress, who immediately set out to make my wishes come true. First, making lovely 2-year-old dresses for our girls and later also, among other things, absolutely lovely braided dresses according to my wishes, not patterns!! And to top it all off, all the clothes had the Veevi logo that I designed!
Veevi birthday dresses made by Kata!
That's where the idea came from and I presented Kata with a crazy idea that we then started to refine. Kata sewed me clothes according to my wishes, which are available exclusively at www.dreamstuff.fi online store!
So yes, 1+1=6 + Dreaming of Veevi, mothers of two sets of twin girls and a joint clothing brand!
Time will tell how this journey continues. I would be grateful if you would share your thoughts on products, logos or anything related to clothing so that we can develop and possibly do things even better. Thank you.
The Dreaming of Veevi collection is available in the online store: www.dreamstuff.fi Welcome to take a look and, if all goes well, also to shop!
